We have just opened the SCC Academy, a new purpose-built headquarters campus training centre focused on delivering IT Skills the wider community. This best practice, employer-led digital skills training hub plans to teach over 1,000 people per year, working in partnership with multiple agencies and community groups.

This role will work closely with our SCC Academy and relevant business units to identify and manage appropriate training programmes, with the overall aim of ensuring SCC has the right level of technical skills within the business as well as a pipeline of external talent at its disposal.

Identifying and liaising with local and national providers, as well as all internal business units, the role is required to build, design, and create a Programme which utilises our SCC Academy to attract talent and develop our workforce ready skills.

The role requires the successful candidate to have sufficient knowledge in the relevant technological fields (AWS, Microsoft, Azure etc.) to be able to identify training requirements across our business and propose full upskilling curriculums. They must also possess solid technical aptitude as well as the ability to build strong relationships with all areas of the organisation and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and launch a development Programme for internal and external talent ensuring that our talent pipeline across the business is constant
  • Create a detailed Training Needs Analysis to build and implement relevant training programmes across the business with a focus on the Hyperscale and Cyber security areas of the business
  • Collaborate with the wider HR and Business Unit teams to determine focus areas for internal development
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to determine which individuals in our business could be supported with additional training programmes and ensuring they are placed on the relevant path to support their ambitions
  • Work with the SCC Academy to create, develop and manage technical and soft skills training programmes to fit organisational requirements. The role will be responsible for building high quality and engaging programmes including self-study, e-learning, and instructor-led courses
  • Own the management and implementation of learning cycles for all individuals on development programmes whether that be apprentices, graduates, early career, or internal development for those looking to pivot their careers
  • Build relationships with colleges and universities to establish a pipeline of potential candidates
  • Identify and contribute to a robust skills matrix framework
  • Evaluate content and delivery of training and amend where necessary
  • Facilitate and deliver training sessions, webinars, workshops etc where required

Key Skills & Experiences:

  • Experience of designing, delivering, and reviewing technical and soft skills training programmes
  • A self-starter, with the ability and vision to see the possibilities in the SCC Academy and somebody who can communicate this externally and internally
  • Ability to align content with delivery and objectives
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Business Applications or AWS (plus)
  • Certifications such as CTT+ (certified technical trainer) is a strong asset
  • An analytical thinker with the ability to track and report on learner engagement
  • Ability to grasp new technological concepts quickly
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex subject areas in a clear and engaging manner
  • Demonstrable evidence of senior stakeholder management
