    The Senior Web Application Developer is responsible for writing complex software from design specifications, and for providing technical guidance and leadership to other members of the development team.

    Responsibilities

    • To write complex software programs from design specifications
    • To write code in compliance with established coding quality standard of the company, and to contribute to the evolution of those standards
    • To run through all the unit test cases for assigned tasks and ensure all unit cases tested and passed before release for testing
    • To contribute to the design of system architecture
    • To process the tasks assigned by Project Managers
    • To assist in technical support and undertake the fixing of bugs where necessary
    • To self-train on new technologies
    • To obtain professional certificates if requested
    • To implement strictly all the company’s processes and guidelines
    • To document detailed designs as needed
    • To perform other tasks assigned by the Project Manager/Project Leader
    • To attend meetings relating to assigned projects as required
    • Planning, execution and documentation of unit tests
    • Responsibility for operational engagement with project managers, business analysts, test leads, and technical architects to deliver projects successfully
    • Ensuring all development is in sympathy with the design authority
    • Responsibility for the ownership of any failed UAT results and their remediation
    • Proactively considering areas of potential improvement for the systems developed
    • Providing guidance and leadership to other members of the development team, whether UK based or remote
    • Gaining a deep understanding of the business in order to ensure that software delivered meets the business needs

    Education & Qualifications

    • University degree in Computer Sciences, or comparable experience

    Experience

    • 8+ years web application development experience is essential
    • Experience of complex integrations is essential
    • Experience of enterprise-level scalable application development is essential
    • Experience of providing leadership and support for a development team is essential
    • Experience of performance tuning complex applications is essential
    • ITIL experience and knowledge is advantageous
    • Experience of working in an onshore/offshore environment is advantageous
    • Experience of working in an agile environment, e.g. SCRUM/Kanban, is advantageous
