    To attend customer sites as part of the systems engineering team and undertake installations, moves and changes following a customer generated script. IMAC activity will include un-packing IT equipment and installing in specific locations and configuring units to a pre-defined standard following detailed instructions. This will include the installation of both hardware and software products. To undertake engineering project work as directed by the business including but not limited to software installations, hardware installations, decommissioning, and auditing.

     

    Main Duties

     

    •             To complete all work assigned in a timely professional manner

    •             To have the ability to complete the work set with the highest standard possible

    •             To be flexible and pragmatic in their approach to the work assigned

    •             To work with and communicate to managers both SCC and customer

    •             To be able to work as part of a team or as an individual on a customer site.

    •             To lead a team of engineers within a project and/or be a single point of contact for engineers and/or the customer.

    •             Act as a mentor to other engineers

    •             Must be capable of working on own initiative

    •             To maintain work areas as befits the professionalism of the department

    •             Must be technically competent and possess the ability to relate and communicate Forming / developing good relationships with customers

    •             Ensuring cost effective delivery of service

    •             Representing SCC in a professional and positive manner at all times

    •             Be compliant with management system policies, company policies & guidelines and take responsibility for health & safety in the workplace

    •             Must be professional and presentable at all times.

    •             Able to mentor colleagues where required

    •             To assist the project team leader or senior systems engineer in overseeing project activity where required

    •             Respond to any requests for information from your line management in a timely manner

    •             Able to stay away from home including some international travel

    •             Any other reasonable request from your line management

    •             Maintain a sound technical knowledge of latest hardware and software products

    •             Any other reasonable request from your line management

    •             Have a flexible approach to working hours in line with customer requirements

    •             Able to stay away from home including some international travel

    •             Work a certain amount of overtime when required to do so.

    •             A positive can-do approach

    •             Be Familiar with all SCC polices and processes relevant to the role and/or your responsibilities to SCC and our customers. 

    •             Be Familiar with customer policies and processes where applicable

     

     

     

     

     

    Skills, Experience, Knowledge

     

    •             Sound IT background and experience

    •             Good problem solving skills

    •             Customer facing skills

    •             Good Technical knowledge

    •             Develop skills/learn on the job

    •             Be able to do shifts and out of hours work and have a flexible approach

    •             Required to have passed the A+ qualification in hardware and software

    •             Required to have passed 2 x MCP’s or equivalent experience

    •             SC Cleared

    •             Full driving licence
