    We are SCC – Specialist Computer Centres – Europe’s leading provider of IT services and solutions. Demand for our Data Centre services continues to grow both from existing and new customers creating a real career opportunity for a talented individual to join us at our Birmingham Data Centre as a SCCM Engineer working on our Managed Desktop Service. This role will focus on designing, documenting, implementing and support of all SCCM builds within the secure platform. The position will sit in 3rd line support reporting into the Sentinel Technical Manager, with a key focus on delivery of new projects to new customers.

    Key Responsibilities

    SCCM administration, with a focus on Managed Desktop Deployment

    MDT administration for build and capture of OS deployment images

    Support of Windows 7 , 8.1 and 10 Managed Desktop solutions

    BAU support of SCCM / MDT – Troubleshoot and own incidents, problems and issues as they arise

    Perform detailed root cause analysis as necessary

    Transition of Managed Desktop solutions into BAU Support,  including training handovers supported by quick guides and customer focused documentation

    Group Policy design and troubleshooting

    Providing third level escalation support within SCC for SCCM queries

    Proactive SCCM maintenance and health checks for all customer bases

    Creation and maintenance of all SCCM related documents

    Skills Knowledge and Experience

    The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a track record of working on enterprise SCCM managed estates. Experience of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with an agile attitude and a logical/methodical approach, able to handle work with multiple customers and projects. Candidate should have experience of working in a large scale solution provider environment, with a rapidly expanding customer base.

    Essential Skills:

    • Experience of working and delivering to large scale high value project streams
    • Good understanding of IT infrastructure related subjects
    • Proven track record of working with 3rd party customers and suppliers in a design, project and support perspective
    • System Centre Configuration Manager 2012 R2
    • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
    • Microsoft Desktop Optimisation Pack (MDOP)
    • Windows 7, 8.1, 10
    • Experience in administering group policy
    • Scripting skills including VBscript and PowerShell
    • Methodical and technically minded with strong focus on high quality standards and excellent attention to detail
    • Design, documentation skills
    • Proven experience of having good fault finding and troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to gain Security Clearance

    Desirable:

    • Experience of working in a cloud based organisation
    • MCSE/MCP qualification
    • Active directory management experience
    • Experience working with PSN compliance
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft office products and patching
    • B.Sc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred
    • Experience of working in a multi-client solutions provider
    • VMware exposure
