    Our business continues to grow creating an opportunity for a Refurbishment Workshop Technician based in Manchester.

    We are recruiting for a Refurb Technician for our busy Workshop in Trafford Park. This is a team-based role within a successful and busy business unit, reporting to the workshop Team Leader and directed by the Warehouse & Workshop Manager. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate aptitude for either mechanical &/or IT installations and setup. A proven record of accomplishment of working within a collaborative and team environment with the ability to work on their own with guided supervision. The ideal candidate would have experience in a similar role in able to ‘hit the ground running’ within a matter of weeks. In this instance we are not looking for a trainee but someone with experience and who wishes to become s fully trained technician or someone who would like to come off the road on a permanent basis. Candidates must be physically fit for lifting, moving, building and manhandle photocopiers around.


    The key elements of the role are

    o             Prioritising work for Business As Usual [BAU] from the jobs board which is populated by the Sales Order Processing [SOP]

    o             Understanding setup configurations following manuals and instructions

    o             Understanding technical detail where required and learning new technical updates

    o             Manual fitting of components where required on a fix / fail basis, cleaning panels and internal mechanic’s

    o             Accessing data bases to locate firmware for installations

    o             Reading/ understanding and applying technical data, drawings and instructions from manuals, technical notes and verbal instructions

    o             Updating service reports, costings, labour

    o             Verbal and written communication (primarily internally) via phone and emails

    o             Housekeeping of workshop and other areas where required where reasonably requested including external yard space

    o             To complete the required basic fundamentals to provide a platform to:

    o             Complete product training/ device electives

    o             Manufacturers training at Head Office once knowledge and experience is gained from the workshop


    Key Responsibilities

    o             To act with integrity and maintain all the group H&S policies and practices

    o             Provide when required information for analysis of the KPI’s / trends for the Workshop & Warehouse Manager

    o             To follow personal Development plan and achieve standard throughout probationary period and beyond

    o             Identify, investigate and take action on any issues that arise within your remit

    o             Understanding our customers’ contractual requirements and supporting the internal departments and teams, so they can deliver excellent customer service

    o             Follow governance within the Warehouse and Workshop teams, ensuring correct processes and timelines are met

    o             Management of own waste [General/Sharps/recyclable/Hazardous]

    o             Ensure computer systems and programmes are followed and accurately input

    o             Work to all Risk Assessments and working practices, ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff, contractors, visitors and self are upheld

    o             Locate and move machines when requested in all-weather types without damaging the machines from site Invincible Way to site Millington Road, across the yard

    o             Ensure that the correct PPE is always worn at all times and safety rules are followed


    Essential Experience

    o             People Teamwork skills [minimum 2 years]

    o             Taking an active role within a team / workshop or warehouse environment

    o             Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, outlook and word

    o             Systems inputting and data analysis where required

    o             Volume throughput [KPIs]

    o             An understanding of how Networks operate

    o             GDPR understanding of security of data

    o             On the tools experience [screw drivers, assembly, deconstruction, HDDs, software]


    Desirable Experience

    o             Clean Full Driving Licence

    o             Engineering / I.T.

    o             Print industry background

    o             Reading technical manuals

    o             Workshop or field experience with Printers
