    Overall Job Purpose:

    Providing specialist L & D support, promoting a learning culture to:

    • Manage a small central team of L & D professionals with responsibility for the analysis, design, delivery and evaluation of training interventions that are transformational or adhere to regulatory / legal requirements.
    • Report on training performance and return on investment, providing recommendations to drive continuous improvement
    • Support the management of the performance development cycle (PDR)
    • Work with Recruitment and Providers for the delivery of SCC’s Apprenticeship Schemes
    • Organise cost effective quality outsourced training through learning needs analysis
    • Contribute to SCC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda through engagement with education establishments .

    Main Duties of the Job:

    Responsible for delivering the People Development Strategy at SCC (UK) that involves the following:

    Partner with a range of stakeholders within the Company to understand the learning needs and as a Business Partner, translate them into the most efficient and effective internal or external training solutions .

    Develop leadership and people development programmes using internal resources and outsourced interventions that enables quality training

    Main Duties of the Job:

    Utilise a range of evaluation techniques, training and coaching either one to one or in a team environment.

    Manage the L & D Team with responsibility for the analysis, design, delivery and evaluation of training, coaching and on-line learning .

    Oversee SCC’s performance development system (PDR) that enables effective assessment and identification of talent .

    Assist in delivering cultural and behavioural change supporting the Board of Directors with new initiatives, projects and company training roles.

    Work with the Recruitment Team and training providers, implementing, supporting and monitoring Apprenticeship Schemes across business units.

    Contribute to SCC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda through engagement with education establishments. Build the SCC brand, attracting talented graduates through partnership engagement and career fairs with local Universities and Colleges .

    Lead the department ensuring GDPR compliance, the bid library and annual CSR report is up-to-date, the training resource schedule is planned and the internal L&D website is current .

    Work in partnership with the Operational HR to produce divisional/functional development plans, and ensure all activity enhances and sustains capability and performance . 

    Essential :

    • Extensive experience across L&D, designing, delivering and implementing effective training and development solutions
    • Experience of coaching individuals to manage performance and talent
    • A recognised training qualification or CIPD qualification
    • Experience of developing managers and the Sales workforce

    Desirable : 

    • Educated to degree level is desirable
    • Coaching accreditations such as Insights Discovery, Myers-Briggs .
    • Experience in providing sales training .
